About Me

Born in Rochester Minnesota, I recently graduated with a double major of Art and Natural Science from the College of Saint Benedict. I have a focus in photography, and I am adept at both film and digital media.  I have worked extensively with large format film both in the traditional dark room setting as well as with digital scans and prints.  I recently finished a summer position as a Gallery Assistant at the Saint John’s University and College of Saint Benedict Galleries.  I do freelance photography whenever I can and I also enjoy working with design and have been fortunate enough to use my skills with creating slideshows and advertisements this summer.  When I am not out shooting photos in the wild or working at a computer, I enjoy doing illustrations, specifically biological illustrations.  In my natural science studies I have focused in biology, mathematics, and nutrition and always find it exciting when I can tie my two fields together.

My goals are to always keep art as a part of my life, and to share my art with others.  Even something as simple as senior photos or a family christmas card can be cherished as a work of art in the eyes of loved ones, and I like to bring what I know from my other artwork into those shots.  A healthy balance of photography purely for art and photography for career are what I hope to achieve with my business Mini Rex Studios. My next step as a recent graduate will ideally take me in the direction of another gallery or museum where I can apply my installation and artistic skills in new and exciting ways.
